I'm applying to a new college, but I have a less-than-stellar transcript from a different school in my past. Am I required to report it? If I don't, will the new school be able to find out?Do I have to report all college transcripts?
oh yeah, any half-decent college will demand transcripts from ALL colleges you have attended in the past. if your school doesnt ask for past transcripts, then i would really think about the type of school you are going to. if its a non-accedited school or just grants associates degrees, then you might be able to get away with it. but an accredited school that gives out bachelors? forget about it, they want to see everything.Do I have to report all college transcripts?
I had the same problem, and the answer is YES, YES, and YES.
If you don't have what is referred to as a ';complete'; academic history, you can, and probably will, be thrown out of your future school, as soon as it is discovered.
In the old days-- meaning before about 1981 or so-- this was not a certainty. But because many students hide things like academic probation, progress point probation, and the like, colleges are FIRM about this. If you've ever received financial aid from ';that'; college, the record will come up.
One good thing though: many colleges will forgive old grades, and the credit as well, which would not be a problem since you don't want to report them anyway.
If your old transcript is just a class or two taken somewhere, from long ago, you might want to take a chance by forgetting it...but be aware of the consequences.
You'll only need to provide transcripts if asked, and usually just the one from your most recent school

I owe 5,000 dollars for a private loan I can no longer pay for, of course, the interest is going up. I went to a private school in 2010 and found out before I obtained my 2 year degree that it was not accredited. I went to an accredited community college afterwards and obtained transferring credits from that institute. I want to go back to school, but I want to know if I can skip the transcripts from the private college that was not accredited since they will not release my transcripts anyway. I will not be applying for financial aid, grants, or loans. I will have to pay strictly out of pocket. If I am not applying for help, do I still have to provide transcripts from the non accredited institute? Will the institute find out about the transcripts from the private college?
