How bad does withdrawing from a class in a university look on transcripts.?

In regards to employers, jobs, etc. I am contemplating withdrawing from a class, (I'm failing it, and I don't see myself doing any better since it's all cumulative.) I'll probably retake the class next semester with a better mindset... any thoughts?How bad does withdrawing from a class in a university look on transcripts.?
i am sorry but this may not help, but i was about to do the same thing. i am taking psych and after classes started i realized i bought the wrong book (i swear they changed it!) and the real book was like double what i bought the wrong book for (the real book was about $120 used! ick!) and i didnt have the money to buy the book and the whole class was all about reading it and answer the questions in it as homework. i called the admin office and they told me that after a certain number of days after the class starts is when you can dropout without a 'W' on your record, well i happened to be a little late and since i am transferring after the semester i cant let it ruin my GPA when transferring. so i sucked it up borrowed some money and bought the dumb stupid book. not only am i in debt but i am failing the class too


so i guess we both got to suck it up and try our hardest at passing it
